This year is the 100th anniversary of the 1918 flu pandemic that killed more than 650,000 Americans. In collaboration with Emergency Management, EMS, Fire, Public Works and the Sheriff’s Office, Carson City Health & Human Services will be hosting a drive-thru flu clinic to practice how to quickly distribute a lot of medications to a lot of people during an emergency or disaster.
Preparing for a pandemic is a community wide effort, so please get out and get your flu shot!
Where can I get my flu shot?
If you cannot make the drive-thru event discussed below, you can get your flu shot from your primary care doctor or local pharmacy. Carson City Health & Human Services also hosts walk-in immunization clinics every Thursday from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 1-4:30 p.m., no appointment needed. Please enter the parking lot from Little Lane. This is a drive-thru event and you will not have to leave your vehicle. We will not be offering walk-up vaccinations.
How much does this cost?
If you have insurance, bring your card and we will handle the billing process for your convenience. If you do not have insurance, the cost is $20, but no one will be turned away for an inability to pay. Cash and checks accepted.
