Text4Baby is a free app available to pregnant women and new mothers providing useful information about motherhood and infancy. Text4Baby texts members three times each week with personalized messages synced to the baby’s due date or birth date and up to the baby’s first year. Information is provided by trustworthy healthcare professionals.
Will Text4Baby work with my cellphone carrier?
Text4Baby is available to 96% of people with cellphones in the U.S. Even if you do not have a text messaging plan, you can receive free texts from the service. If you have a limited text messaging plan, Text4Baby will not subtract from your total amount of messages you can receive per month. Text4Baby is free to anyone with the following cellphone carriers:

What information do I have to provide?
Text4Baby requires your phone number, zip code, and your due date or baby’s birth date. The information is confidential and will not be shared with anyone.
Who can sign up for Text4Baby?
Although Text4Baby is intended for pregnant women and new mothers, anyone can use the service including fathers, grandparents, or caregivers.
Can I ask questions from Text4Baby experts?
You cannot reply to text messages that Text4Baby sends you. However, phone numbers will be provided in the text messages, and you can call them for any information. You can also contact your midwife or doctor with any questions.
How do I sign up for Text4Baby?
You can sign up for Text4Baby by texting BABY to 511411. To sign up in Spanish, text BEBE to 511411.
How long will I receive text messages?
You will receive text messages from the time you sign up until your baby’s first birthday. After, you will receive monthly text messages with breaking news or urgent health information.
Can I forward these messages to my friends and family?
Yes! Text4Baby encourages you to forward messages and urge your friends and family to sign up by texting BABY (English) or BEBE (Spanish) to 511411.
If I’m already signed up for Text4Baby for my child, but I get pregnant again, can I receive both kinds of messages?
Unfortunately, you can only receive one set of text messages. However, you can ask a friend or family member to sign up with your new due date so you can read both text messages!
What should I do if my due date changes or I deliver my baby early?
To change your due date or baby’s birth date, text UPDATE to 511411. You will receive a text message asking for the new due date or birth date.
I tried signing up for Text4Baby, but it won’t work. Why?
If you do not have a cellphone plan with one of the carriers mentioned above, Text4Baby will not be available to you. If you have a cellphone carrier that does not participate, you can email firstname.lastname@example.org. If you do have a participating cellphone carrier, and it still is not working, you can register at www.text4baby.org.
What should I do if I got a new phone or a new number?
If you have a new phone or new number, you can text BABY (English) or BEBE (Spanish) to 511411.
I’m trying to sign up, but it says I’m already registered. What should I do?
Text UPDATE to 511411. If that does not work, you can text STOP to 511411, wait one day, and then text BABY (English) or BEBE (Spanish) to 511411.
Text4Baby is free, but I think I may have been charged by my carrier. What should I do?
If you have been charged by your carrier, contact them right away. They will provide a refund if you have been charged by mistake.
