The Carson City Senior Center will be conducting the inaugural “Fight Hunger” Show and Shine Car Show to benefit Meals on Wheels over the Labor Day weekend of Saturday August 31 and Sunday September 1, 2013 from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm at Mills Park; located at 1111 E. Williams St. (US Hwy 50 E) in Carson City. 

This event features Classic Cars, music, raffles, food and trophies all in the beautiful setting of Mills Park.  The funds generated from this event will help feed our homebound seniors. The Center has recently experienced a 60% growth in homebound nutrition; Meals on Wheels will provide over 76,000 meals this year.  But our goals remain the same; to bring comfort to those in need, and help people to remain independent, and in their homes.

Meals on Wheels not only ensures a hot meal to our homebound seniors, but also provides an essential daily welfare check.  In many instances, our driver may be the only social contact an individual will receive.

Vehicle registration for this two day event is $25 and Vendor Booth spaces are only $50. 

This is a family event that is open to all ages. So come for the cars, the music and the food, but more importantly come to support a great cause and help feed the homebound in our community.
