Carson City Health and Human Services’ Tobacco Prevention & Control Program strives to raise awareness about smoking and tobacco-related issues through various strategies which include media campaigns, community outreach, presentations, educational materials and resources developed for specific population groups and communities.

Program’s four major goals:

  • Prevent initiation of tobacco use.
  • Promote cessation (quitting) of tobacco products.
  • Eliminate secondhand exposure.
  • Reduce and eliminate health disparities.
