Carson City is hosting a second public meeting for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).
This notice is hereby given that Carson City will conduct a public hearing on December12, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., at the Community Development Conference Room A, located at
108 E. Proctor Street, Carson City, NV 8970, in order to discuss potential applications for funding under the next fiscal year, (July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020) for the State Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program and to solicit additional citizen input on possible activities to be included in the application.
ELIGIBLE ACTIVITIES UNDER THE ABOVE ALLOCATION CONSIST OF: HOUSING REHABILITATION PROGRAMS, PUBLIC FACILITY AND PUBLIC IMPROVMENTS PROJECTS, PUBLIC SERVICES PROGRAMS, PLANNING STUDIES, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BUSINESS ASSISTANCE AND MICROENTERPRISE ACTIVITES. ELIGIBLE ACTIVITES PAID FOR WITH THE STATE CDBG FUNDS MUST MEET ONE OR MORE OF THE THREE NATIONAL OBJECTIVES LISTED IN CDBG FEDERAL STATUES AS FOLLOWS: BENEFIT TO LOW INCOME HOUSEHOLDS OR PERSON: ELIMINATIONOF SLUMS AND BLIGHT; OR MEETING URGENT COMMINITY DEVELOPMENT NEEDS.
The purpose of this public hearing is to give citizens an opportunity to discuss proposed projects submitted to date and to suggest further ideas. Proposed projects will be presented at the meeting on December 12, 2018.Only the proposed projects will be forwarded to the Carson City Board of Supervisors for approval.
